U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has proposed increasing filing fees for a number of applications. Of note, the I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization) may increase from $410 to $490, I-751 (Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence) from $595 to $760, and N-400 (Application for Naturalization) from $640 to $1,170. Eligible Green Card holders, in particular, are encouraged to apply for Naturalization now so as to avoid paying the 83% increased filing fee in addition to possibly having the ability to vote in the 2020 Presidential Election.
